Every now and again at the Buffalo Poetics Listserv there’s a call to rally to raise funds for a lifetime writer who has no medical coverage or needs financial support in some way. It was nice to come across the woodcock fund, a support structure for relief for “when a writer faces an unexpected financial crisis, therefore, or becomes ill, his or her ability to finish a book is at serious risk. Unless help arrives.”

Postings elsewhere: an interview with Jenn Bredl that I did at Mipoesias is up. I don’t think I pointed to the Peter F Yacht club in December.

Did you notice two of the books from the last writers festival were short-listed for the Charles Taylor Prize for non-fiction?Funnily enough the announcement on their site is an image, rather than links that would make it easy for people to actually look up the nominees…John A: The Man who Made Us and The Film Club among others.
