Currin & Ball in The A B Series

March was a good month for these Coach House poets and April 16 A B Series readers Jen Currin and Jonathan Ball

Vancouver poet Jen Currin scored a nomination hat trick as a finalist on three important poetry shortlists for her third collection, The Inquisition Yours.

On Thursday, March 10, The Inquisition Yours was named as a finalist for the Dorothy Livesay Prize, the BC Book Prize awarded to the year’s best poetry collection. Just days later, the book was shortlisted for a Lambda Literary Award in the category of Lesbian Poetry. And only hours after that announcement, Currin received her third award nomination, when The Inquisition Yours was named as a finalist for The Publishing Triangle’s Audre Lorde Award, also given annually the best collection of lesbian poetry.

Not to be outshone by his label mate Currin, Jonathan Ball, author of Clockfire, has been shortlisted for the Aqua Books Lansdowne Prize for Poetry, one of the Manitoba Book Awards. Stay tuned to the Coach House website and Twitter feed to find out if Currin and Ball win their respective awards!
